PC.Solutions.Net has partnered with Cyberguard since 2003.
Cyberguard, the manufacturer of premium firewall and VPN appliances
and now Secure Computing.
In 1974,
Harris Corporation purchased Datacraft and renamed it Harris
Computer Systems Division. In 1994, Harris Corporation spun off
Harris Computer Systems Corporation as an independent public company
providing real-time computing solutions and CyberGuard firewalls.
In June 1996, following the sale of the real-time computer business,
the company changed its name to CyberGuard Corporation, signaling
its dedicated focus on firewalls and network security solutions.
In 2000, CyberGuard introduced its first premium firewall appliance,
which became the first to achieve the prestigious and
internationally recognized Common Criteria EAL4 certification. In
2001, CyberGuard enrolled in the Common Criteria Assurance
Maintenance scheme, ensuring that all subsequent releases of
CyberGuard firewall product will retain their EAL4 rating. An EAL4+
rating was achieved in 2002.
In January 2003, CyberGuard acquired certain assts of NetOctave, a
leading provider of security processors, accelerator boards and
cards for the SSL (secure sockets layer) and IPsec (Internet
protocol security) markets.
In November of that same year, CyberGuard acquired SnapGear, a
leading developer of embedded Linux security solutions and firewall/VPN
appliances for mid-sized businesses and replicated sites.
In February 2004, CyberGuard announced a suite of Total Stream
Protection™ technologies that would transform the ways in which
organizations secure their networks. Total Stream Protection™ (TSP)
redefines the traditional role of the firewall by incorporating a
comprehensive set of features for securing business applications and
organizational data.
To support its Total Stream Protection strategy, CyberGuard acquired
Webwasher AG in April 2004. The Siemens spin-off offers the Content
Security Management (CSM) suite of enterprise-class Web and e-mail
content security solutions.
CyberGuard will continue to develop its Total Stream Protection™
framework through ongoing development of its core technologies and
via strategic acquisitions.
