Going forward you’ll see a new look for the newsletter. The intention is, to make it easier to follow with the added advantage of not getting caught up unintentionally in your email filters.
How are some companies using online services creatively? Not from an end user but a service provider perspective; There are companies like Smugmug that let you store unlimited amount of pictures and videos online targeted towards end users, then there are services like PCSN’s very own Online Server Backup designed for SMB’s in mind.
Most companies that cater to the enterprise world don’t think or care about small business. They usually start at a price point either too high for SMB’s or something that cannot be sustained, especially as the data grows over time. Not that SMB’s want something for nothing, to the contrary, SMB’s just have different needs.
Our Online Server Backup is a very streamlined service. We’ve wringed out all overhead cost, enabling our customers to utilize online secure storage at just 30 cents per GB-Month. We keep your data at multiple geographic sites, in three different datacenters on the east coast to really protect against a catastrophe.
There is no limit to how much storage you can use. I know of companies using from less than 500GB to ones with over 2TB of data in active storage and growing. One way we have removed cost from the system is by automating and outsourcing billing and collections. I thought, we ask our customers to concentrate on their core business and outsource their IT to us, billing/collections is not our core business so let someone else do it who has the infrastructure and expertise in place. I don’t think we would have been able to launch this service had we tried to do invoicing in-house!
While we are on the topic of online storage, if you don’t already have an account at Smugmug, use this code g9W6LkyhPfny6 in the “referred by” area when signing up for an additional discount!
