Automatic Cleanup Tool
If you haven't already used CCleaner, give it a try. It's an easy to use free tool that removes unneeded files like log files created by Windows at each update, old anti virus definition files that are no longer required, cookies, temporary internet files, etc.
This tool will also cleanup your registry and allow you to remove programs cleanly instead of like the Windows Add/Remove programs applet, which tends to leave entries in registry. I haven't had any problems with using the default settings of the tool but as with any cleanup tool, you need to know what the tool is removing and weather the files being removed are required or not.
You can download the tool from www.ccleaner.com, as a test just note the amount of free space on your hard drive before and after running the tool, you'll be surprised. The tool will run on Windows 2000 and up all the way to Vista.
